What is Holistic Massage ?
The term "Holistic" derives from the Ancient Greek word "holos," which means "whole." By definition, Holistic massage treats the ‘Whole Person’ - Your Body, Mind & Soul. Holistic massage is an ancient method of healing that clears the lymphatic drainage system and releases toxins from the body, as well as relieving mental and emotional stresses & tensions. Unlike other therapies, it is not just looking to treat the symptoms, but to establish the cause. The training for the therapist is quite extensive, as it not only covers massage, but also anatomy and physiology, nutrition and general health. Holistic massage is a combination of various movements used to manipulate muscles through the application of pressure to soothe and stimulate the whole body. The massage technique is based on the Swedish massage system and can be used for relaxation, stimulation or rehabilitation.

What happens during the treatment?
A short consultation will be performed before each treatment to identify if there are any contraindications to the massage. It is very important that you inform your therapist if you have any present medical conditions (e.g inflammation, recent accidents, heart conditions, infectious disease etc.) and if you are on any medication or have any allergies. Only in very few cases the therapist will refuse a treatment or ask to provide a doctors permission. Knowing your current health status allows the therapist to provide you with a safe and beneficial massage. The techniques and pressure will be adjusted specifically to your personal needs. Following the
consultation the client will be left to get undressed in private. During the treatment the client will lie on a massage table and will be fully covered by towels, with only the body part being worked on at the time remaining exposed. Oil will be used during the massage.
